CEO Corner – AGPROfessionals News
Thanks for stopping by! We are almost through the fall season and heading into winter. Where has the time gone? To keep our clients “in the know,” I wanted to provide a few newsworthy updates on what’s happening within AGPROfessionals and throughout the agricultural industry.
Fall is here and the CDPHE & Tetra Tech inspections are underway, so keep your facility in good order and your records updated! Contact AGPROfessionals if you get an inspection call. We will conduct a pre-inspection visit and also attend the formal inspection. If the inspection date doesn’t work for you, you can ask CDPHE & Tetra Tech for an alternate date. This year, inspections will include visits to application fields to check required setbacks.
We are almost finished with our field soil sampling phase for 2014 and have started sending out soil analysis laboratory reports. We are working on cropping recommendations as the labs come in, however, if you need a rapid turn-around, please call us and we will do our best to accommodate.
Real Estate News
We were recently interviewed by The Fence Post for their Fall Real Estate Guide on Colorado real estate market trends. Colorado saw a 5.5 percent increase in the value of farm real estate from 2013-2014. Nationally, real estate values for farmland including buildings, pastureland and cropland have seen a steady increase since 2009.
Though we expect those prices to level out, we do not see them taking a downward turn anytime soon. Some of the properties that are bringing in the highest numbers are those with excellent water availability and oil and gas opportunities.
Sometimes, landowners and producers are forced to relocate because of urban expansion. For example, we work with a lot of clients that are on the rural-urban interface on the fringe of development. Many are being converted or are useful for commercial or individual development.
We look for very specific property attributes for somebody selling land. Don’t think that you are categorized as just one use, whether you’re dryland or irrigated, there may be many other options we can develop for you.
The most important takeaway is to have a good plan and understand that there is a lot more to it than finding a broker and slapping up a sign. AGPROfessionals works to make buying and selling agricultural land the most successful venture possible. Give us a call if we can help!

Giving Back To The Community
On November 17th, the staff at AGPROfessionals jumped in to volunteer their time to help the Weld County Food Bank with building food boxes, repackaging bulk food items, and safety checking donated food. This year, the Food Bank needs 4,000 turkeys to feed the hungry. Your donations are an integral part of reaching the goal of eliminating hunger in our community. If you would like to learn more about donating your time, turkeys or a monetary contribution, please visit www.weldfoodbank.org. With your support we can make sure that no one in Weld County goes hungry!
