AGPROfessionals Returns to Rodeo Dunes for the 2026 Duel at the Dunes
Last week, members of the AGPROfessionals team attended the Duel at the Dunes at Rodeo Dunes Golf Resort near Roggen, Colorado. The event brings together two seemingly different worlds with deep roots in the land: championship rodeo and world-class golf. For AGPROfessionals, the Duel at the Dunes was especially meaningful. Rodeo Dunes is more than an exciting new destination taking shape on Colorado’s eastern plains – it is a project our team has been proud to support from its early stages. Our team has provided a range of services throughout the project, including land entitlement, planning and permitting, civil engineering, surveying, and other development services, helping navigate the complexities of bringing this ambitious vision to life.
AGPROfessionals is Helping Navigate Complex Land Development
Designed as more than a golf course, Rodeo Dunes has completed its first 18-hole course by renowned architects Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, and a second course designed by Jimmy Craig is currently under construction, with both scheduled to open to the general public in 2027. In the long term, there are plans for up to six courses, restaurants, lodging, homes, and mixed-use villages. Rodeo Dunes is becoming a premier North American golf destination while preserving the land’s character and western heritage
Projects of this scale demand expertise in land use, zoning, infrastructure, engineering, surveying, local regulations, agency coordination, and more. Success means not only knowing regulations, but understanding their intent, anticipating obstacles, and finding solutions that work for developers and reviewing agencies. By uniting the consulting services AGPROfessionals offers, we serve as a one-stop resource for complex developments.
The Duel at the Dunes Returns to Colorado’s High Plains
Held September 30, 2026, Duel at the Dunes continued a tradition begun in 2025. The event reflects the property’s deep roots in western agriculture and rodeo. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) invitational features top saddle bronc, bareback, and bull riders competing at Rodeo Dunes. Timed at a pivotal point in the rodeo season, it gives riders a chance to climb the world standings and qualify for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Set among Rodeo Dunes’ rolling dunes, the arena offers a distinctive backdrop of Colorado’s high plains, where golf meets rodeo.
From Vision to Reality
For AGPROfessionals, projects like Rodeo Dunes demonstrate why comprehensive land development expertise matters. A great project begins with a vision, but moving from vision to construction requires navigating countless decisions involving the land, infrastructure, regulations, and local community. We are proud to have helped Rodeo Dunes navigate that process and are excited to continue working alongside the team as this remarkable destination grows over the next several years.
Attending this year’s Duel at the Dunes gave our team another opportunity to see firsthand how far the Rodeo Dunes’ vision has come. We were honored to experience the Duel at the Dunes again, a celebration that captures what makes this project unique: Colorado’s landscape, western heritage, rodeo tradition, and an extraordinary vision for the future.
