AGPROfessionals Takes Agriculture Advocacy to Capitol Hill

Washington, D.C. - June 2025

Karen Gerfen Glueck, Vice President of Communications and Strategic Planning for AGPROfessionals, recently represented the firm at the 2025 American Agri-Women Fly-In in Washington, D.C., where she met directly with lawmakers and federal regulators to advocate for the interests of agricultural producers and landowners nationwide.

Strategic Agricultural Advocacy

As a long-standing voice in agricultural advocacy, Gerfen Glueck used the opportunity to introduce AGPROfessionals to key decision-makers, presenting them with a comprehensive overview of the company’s services and expertise. The outreach was part of a strategic effort to ensure AGPROfessionals becomes a trusted resource for legislators and agency staff seeking reliable information about land use, environmental/agricultural regulation, rural infrastructure, and the day-to-day realities facing American agriculture.

“We believe it’s essential that those writing and enforcing laws hear directly from experts who live and work in agriculture,” said Gerfen Glueck. “By presenting AGPROfessionals as a go-to resource, we’re helping bridge the gap between policy and real-world agricultural operations.”

Throughout the Fly-In, Gerfen Glueck engaged in high-level meetings with representatives from USDA, EPA, and Congress. During USDA roundtables in the historic Williamsburg Room, she participated in discussions on public land management, water resources, and grazing, featuring speakers such as Congressman Cliff Bentz (Oregon), Congresswoman Harriet Hageman (Wyoming), Travis Joseph (CEO of the American Forest Resource Council), and Kristin Sleeper (USDA Deputy Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment). These discussions underscored the urgent need for informed, science-based policy that supports, not hinders, America’s farmers and ranchers.

Gerfen Glueck also participated in meetings with lawmakers on Capitol Hill, presenting AGPROfessionals’ mission and capabilities through a professionally developed policy handout that showcased the firm’s national reach and technical depth. The flyer emphasized the company’s broad service portfolio, including:

  • Permitting and Land Use Policy for CAFOs and rural infrastructure
  • Environmental Consulting for groundwater, nutrient management, and compliance
  • Engineering Solutions for dairies, feedlots, sale barns, and water systems
  • Real Estate Services across agricultural and ranch properties
  • Public Affairs & Advocacy including community engagement, testimony, and consulting

The handout, distributed to lawmakers and agency staff, reinforced AGPROfessionals’ commitment to providing grounded, practical expertise that supports agriculture while guiding policy discussions.

Gerfen Glueck’s background includes more than two decades in strategic communications and operations, including seven years with the agricultural advocacy group Protect The Harvest. Since joining AGPROfessionals in 2023, she has led efforts to amplify the voice of clients across the agriculture sector, from producers and landowners to processors and developers, on issues ranging from land regulation to sustainability and rural growth.

“This trip wasn’t just about presence, it was about positioning AGPROfessionals as a reliable partner in the policymaking process,” Glueck said. “We’re not just consultants. We’re advocates. We’re on the ground with our clients every day, and we’re committed to making sure their voices are heard in Washington and beyond.”

The 2025 American Agri-Women Fly-In highlighted the power of unified, informed advocacy in agriculture. For AGPROfessionals, the trip was an important step in deepening relationships with policymakers and reinforcing the company’s role as a national leader in agricultural development, strategy, and support.
