Senate Bill 26-121, Overtime Threshold for Agricultural Employees, was signed into law by Governor Polis on Monday. The CFB-backed bill will increase the overtime threshold to 56 hours per week, locking into statute a much more workable overtime framework compared to that of the current rules set up 5 years ago in SB26-087.

At a time when producers are facing record high input costs and see very little, if any, margin as they navigate record low commodity markets, it is critical that farms and ranches are able to manage their labor costs while empowering their employees to increase their earnings. CFB is excited to celebrate this landmark legislation becoming law.
