Partnering for Success on a Weld County Turn Lane Project
AGPROfessionals is proud of its long-standing relationships with other businesses across our industry, which enable us to provide complementary services on various projects. Weld County’s 4X Industrial, LLC, is a business with which we’ve partnered many times, and we recently had the chance to work together on a local highway improvement project. The project involved providing construction observation and material testing for the Burnco turn lane improvements along Highway 85, north of Country Road 16, in Weld County, Colorado.
One of AGPROfessionals’ core competencies is engineering, encompassing a wide range of services. For this effort, 4X requested our assistance in the Geotechnical space to observe and verify field density tests on various earthwork operations. We also provided quality control and quality assurance services, reviewed Geotech reports, and provided the final report to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
As the Engineer of Record, we provided field density verification for embankment and backfill materials, and for the installation of roadway alignments and the subgrade preparation for pavement areas (subgrade, aggregate base course, and asphalt pavement sections). A key area that we oversaw was the installation of the MIRAFI RSi subgrade stabilization and pavement base reinforcement. This high-performance geosynthetic helps to provide soil reinforcement, confinement, separation, and filtration, resulting in improved long-term pavement durability, reduced cost, and accelerated construction.
Our successful collaboration on this project resulted in a new section of roadway that was successfully approved on time. Thank you 4X for your continued friendship and partnership over the years, and across Weld County!
